Introduction
Welcome to NextG Design, the free AI photo editor that runs entirely in your web browser. Your photos never leave your device. In the next few minutes, you'll learn every main tool.
Open a photo
To start, open the AI Photo Editor and drag a photo onto the page, paste one, or click Choose Photo. There's no sign up and no upload. Everything is processed on your own computer or phone.
The workspace
The workspace works like a professional editor. Tools are on the left, every command is in the menus at the top, and the settings for the current tool appear in the panel on the right.
Find any tool fast
Tools are grouped by category. Hover over an icon to see its name and shortcut, and right click, or long press on a phone, to open the group and pick any tool inside it.
Magic Eraser
Want something gone? Choose the Magic Eraser and paint over it. When you lift the brush, the AI fills the area to match its surroundings. Here, all the text disappears, and the sky looks untouched.
Remove or change the background
Remove Background finds your subject automatically. Keep it transparent, or pick a new colour, a blur, or your own picture. Check the edge on white or black, and refine it if you need to.
Portrait Blur
Portrait Blur gives any photo a professional, shallow depth of field. With realistic depth, the ground near your subject stays sharp, and the background gets softer the further away it is.
Sky Replacement
Sky Replacement swaps a dull sky for a sunset, a blue sky, or dramatic clouds, and then relights the whole photo so the colours match.
Face & Retouch
Face and Retouch finds every face in the photo. Use the sliders to smooth skin, add light, brighten eyes, whiten teeth, or gently reshape. It all happens on your device.
Restore & colorize old photos
Have old family prints? Restore repairs scratches and dust, cleans up grain, and brings back faded contrast. Turn on Colorize, and the AI adds natural colour to black and white photos.
Text, stickers & filters
Add titles with Text and Stickers. Click the photo to type, choose from twenty fonts, and add outlines, shadows, spacing, rotation, or a curved warp. Then finish the look with one tap filters.
Layers, history & undo
Everything you do can be undone. Text, shapes and adjustments stay on their own layers, so you can change them later, and you can hold Compare at any time to see the original.
Download your photo
When you're happy, click Download. Choose PNG, JPG or WebP, set the size and quality, and save. Your photo goes straight to your device, never to a server.

What NextG Design offers
NextG Design builds small, focused web tools for everyday photo editing tasks that normally mean installing software, creating an account, or uploading your pictures to a stranger's server. Every tool works the opposite way: the entire tool — any AI model, the image-processing code, the file you're editing — runs inside the tab you're looking at right now, using your own device's processing power.
The Background Remover uses an on-device AI segmentation model to cut a subject out of a photo and export it as a transparent PNG, with manual erase/restore brushes for touching up anything the AI gets wrong. The Image Upscaler increases a photo's resolution by up to 400%, using edge-aware noise reduction and sharpening to make old, small, or blurry photos look clearer. Do I need to create an account?
No. None of the tools has a sign-up flow, a login, or a paywall. Open the page and start editing.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Every tool processes images entirely client-side, in your browser, using the Canvas API and WebAssembly AI models. The models are downloaded to your device; your photos never leave it. See our Privacy Policy for the full technical explanation.
What can the AI Photo Editor do?
It's a Photoshop-style workspace with eight AI tools — click-to-select objects, a magic eraser, background removal and replacement, black-and-white colourisation, old photo restoration, portrait and depth-aware lens blur, and face retouching — plus AI upscaling, auto enhance, adjustments, 16 filters, crop and rotate, text, and drawing tools. It has menus, a right-click menu, a history panel and keyboard shortcuts, and every edit can be undone.
Is there a limit on image size or how many I can process?
There's no artificial limit or quota — since processing happens on your own device, the only real constraint is your device's memory and processing power. Very large images may be reduced so your browser can handle them smoothly.
Can I use the results commercially?
The images you process are entirely yours — we never receive them, so we have no claim over them at all. See our General Terms and Conditions for the full terms of using the tools themselves.
