Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 September 2026
The short version: your images never leave your device. There is no upload step, no server-side processing, and no image storage anywhere in this system, because there is no server in the picture at all for the actual image work. Below is the full detail.
What we do not collect
- Your images. The Background Remover and Image Upscaler process images entirely in your browser, using JavaScript, the Canvas API, and (for background removal) an AI model that runs locally via WebAssembly. Your photo is read from your device's memory, processed on your device's own CPU/GPU, and the result stays in your browser until you choose to download it. It is never transmitted anywhere.
- Accounts or personal profiles. There is no sign-up, login, username, or password anywhere on this site.
- Analytics or usage tracking. We do not run analytics scripts, tracking pixels, or behavioral advertising tools on this site.
The one thing that does leave your device
The first time you use the Background Remover in a browser, it downloads an open-source AI model (a few dozen megabytes) from a third-party content delivery network so it can run locally afterward. That download request is a standard web file request — it includes ordinary technical metadata your browser sends with any web request (such as your IP address and browser type, handled by the CDN operator, not by us), but it never includes your image or anything about what you intend to do with the tool. Your browser typically caches the model after the first download, so this doesn't repeat on every use.
The Image Upscaler needs no such download and makes no network requests at all once its page has loaded — it works completely offline from that point on.
Cookies and local storage
See our Cookie Policy for full detail. In short: we don't use cookies for tracking, and any settings you adjust (like brush size or output resolution) live only in that browser tab's memory for that session — they're not saved, synced, or sent anywhere.
Hosting logs
Whichever server or hosting platform serves these static files to your browser may, like virtually any web host, keep basic technical access logs (e.g. IP address, requested file, timestamp) for security and operational purposes. We don't add any tracking on top of that, and — again — those logs never contain your images, since your images never reach the server in the first place.
Children's privacy
Because we don't collect personal data or images at all, we don't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. If you believe a data-protection concern applies to this site, please contact us using the details below.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, privacy laws (such as the GDPR) grant you rights like access, correction, deletion, and objection regarding personal data a service holds about you. Since we don't collect or store your images or any personal profile, there is generally nothing for us to provide, correct, or delete — but if you have any concern, contact us and we'll look into it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, if a future feature were to introduce optional cloud processing or analytics — we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above, and we'll aim to make any such change clearly opt-in rather than silent.
