This page is a plain-language summary of the terms for using NextG Design's Background Remover and Image Upscaler. The full legal terms are in our General Terms and Conditions — if the two ever disagree, the General Terms and Conditions control.

What NextG Design is

NextG Design is a set of free browser-based image tools: a background remover and an image upscaler. Both run entirely on your own device. There's no account, no upload step to a server, and no charge.

Your files stay yours, and stay with you

We never receive the images you process. All the actual image work — the AI cutout, the upscaling, the sharpening — happens locally in your browser using your device's own processing power. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail, including the one exception (a background AI model file, not your photo, downloaded from a third-party CDN the first time you use the Background Remover).

Acceptable use

You agree to use these tools only for images you have the right to process, and not to use them for anything illegal, infringing, or intended to harm, deceive, or defraud someone else. You're responsible for the images you choose to process and for how you use the results.

No warranty

These tools are provided "as is," free of charge, with no guarantee of a particular result. Background removal and upscaling are automated and imperfect — always review the output before relying on it, especially for anything important.

Changes and availability

We may update, change, or discontinue these tools at any time, since they're offered free and without a service contract.
