Why convert PNG to JPG?

PNG is lossless and supports transparency, but that makes it a much larger file for ordinary photos with no transparency at all. JPG's compression is tuned for photographic detail, so converting a flat (non-transparent) PNG to JPG usually shrinks the file significantly with little visible quality loss — useful for faster page loads, email attachments, or upload size limits.
