How it works

An on-device segmentation model (ISNet) finds the person, pet or product. Everything else becomes the area to regenerate, and SD-Turbo — running on your graphics card with WebGPU — paints the new scene from your prompt. The subject's pixels are never altered, and the new background is placed on its own layer.

Great uses

• Product photos: marble counters, linen, studio sweeps, outdoor lifestyle scenes.
• Profile pictures: a clean studio backdrop or a soft outdoor blur.
• Social posts and thumbnails: travel, seasonal or themed backdrops.

Prompts work best when they describe the place and light: “a sunny beach with palm trees, shallow depth of field”.

When to use something else

For a plain white or transparent background, use Change Background — it's instant and doesn't need a graphics card. For a real photo of your own as the backdrop, Change Background's Image option keeps it exact.
