About NextG Design
NextG Design makes small, focused image tools that do one job well, run entirely on your own device, and never ask you to sign up, upload a file to a server, or pay to get your result.
What NextG Design offers
We currently build and maintain two free browser-based tools:
🪄 Background Remover
Cuts a subject out of any photo using an on-device AI segmentation model, with Erase/Restore touch-up brushes and zoom/pan so you can fix the edges the AI gets wrong before exporting a clean, transparent PNG. Try it →

Both tools process your image using nothing but your browser's own JavaScript engine, Canvas API, and (for background removal) a WebAssembly AI model — there is no server on the other end handling your photo. That's not a marketing claim; it's a structural fact you can verify yourself by checking your browser's network tab while you use either tool.
Why we build it this way
Most "free" image tools online work by uploading your photo to a server, processing it there, and sending the result back — which means a company you've never heard of temporarily (or not-so-temporarily) holds a copy of your photo. We think that's an unnecessary trade-off for tasks that a modern browser is now genuinely capable of doing on its own. Keeping everything client-side means:
- Your images never leave your device, so there's nothing to leak, retain, or misuse — see our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
- There's no account, login, or payment step between you and your result.
- The tools work about as fast as your own hardware allows, without waiting on an upload or a queue.
